Video 3 (Mens Team Competition) shows the main matches for the third day of the championships. On July 6, the world top skilled men compete for the title of the best country in Kendo in the world. The team competition is definitely the highlight of the tournament, as the countries compete representing their countries. 38 countries participated in the men”Ēs team competition. There is a demonstration of Jodo and Suio-ryu Kusari-gama in between the matches. The competition is a full day event. The video is divided in two sections. First section contains the highlights of the preliminary matches, by showing the best matches and points scored, and later the semi-finals and the final matches. Good coverage of the semi-finals and finals of the WKC in Glasgow on the second video, with slo-mo and commentary, which makes it more educational for the beginning Kendoka without much exposure to competition at this level. The first video has highlights only, and is not informative unless one has an experienced eye for quality Kendo.

Unfortunately the entire four hours is filmed from the same vantage point in the stands which makes for less interesting viewing and obscures several of the points scored.

We look forward to better overall production values for the coverage of Taipei WKC in 2006...!
