I actually visited E-Bogu's operation in Torrance and was treated very well. You can ask all the dumb questions (I'm new) and they take ample time to teach or to recommend solutions for you.
This Shinai is a great deal and its the real thing. I say this because the price far surpasses the performance. This means that I expected a cheap shinai but the quality is pretty good.
BTW, TSA allows shinais to be carried aboard aircraft.
