Amazing Bogu! |

For my first Bogu I decided to save a little more money and go for this one. I don't regret the spendings one bit: the looks, the lightweight, the feel... it has it all, and I would recommend it to anyone!
After a little over a month of having it, here's my review: the Kote are very good at protecting against impacts (no need for wrist protectors, in my opinion), and the tapered ends of the Tare himo are a nice little touch that allow for easier tying. The Men did take a little time to break in, but that is to be expected from a new Bogu, and once it took the shape of my head I could barely notice wearing it!
If you can go for the extra money, buy this Bogu. You definitely won't regret it.

This is my second Bogu from e-bogu, and I love it! My first one was the 6MM Bogu, which was a great deal for the price, but this 3MM Bogu has nice details on the borders, and the design is very good. I hope to use this Bogu for the next 3 year, and perhaps when I get 3 Dan I try their TEZASHI.

This was my first purchase of any Kendo equipment. I was pleasantly surprised with excellent prompt service and shippment.
One suggestion if you are 6 foot tall guy with 36-38 cm waist. In retrospect I would have preferred an XL Tare as when i tie the knot, i have very little left in terms of himo/belt length.
I must tell that the quality of every item was excellent! Kote felt good from the first practice and never hurt and did not feel stiff. It was actually very comfortable.
Another little suggestion about Do- for big guys like me, the upper Do himo is a bit short and i had to get Men himo and cut them a little.
Shipping to Canada was very quick.
Thank you e-bogu, you have a great product and a great service. I will use your site i hope many times in the future

Can't go wrong with this |

I've bought this bogu a few months ago and have to say I am absolutely happy with it. The quality hasn't been a problem so far and the price is really fair. I compared the weight to my previous bogu and the difference was only minimal but it does FEEL pretty light. Not sure if this is the placebo effect or just nice weight distribution but I am definitely happy with it. I would especially recommend this one to beginners who buy their first set of bogu as the price is really okay for what you get.
Concerning the Kote: I have not yet had any problems or more pain than usual after keiko with these.

I just received this product today. I am very pleased with it upon first look. The quality of workmanship seems first rate. Tight seams, clean edges and solid materials. I would definitely recommend this product at this time.
I will update my findings after putting this bogu through it's paces at the dojo.
UPDATE: 03/31/2010 - This Bogu has performed exceptionally well in keiko and shiai. It is very light and I really don't even realize I am wearing it after a few minutes.
The only thing I might recommend would be to get some wrist or kote pads. I find the men is sufficiently firm and I barely feel hits there but my wrist is purple after an evening of overzealous kendoka. This is pretty normal with any bogu so don't take it as a detraction.
Definitely give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.
*Note: Does come with a white tenugui already which I did not know so no need to buy an extra if you don't need to (which I did).
