"This is an evolution from our best selling Super Keiryo Bogu. It has all the characteristics a Hand Stitched Bogu has, such as the Men Futon with the Fukuro Nui borders, soft Tare. In addition to that, we have made carefull changes to the details, such as the angled cut on the end of the Mendare, angled cut on the side Tares, and the Tare Himos to have a thinner cut as it approaches the end. This way, it will make a smaller knot when tying the Tare. Also, new material is used inside the Futon in all parts, so that the shape of the Futon will stay, even after long practices. The light wight Bogu makes your movements easier, but we keep the safety of the players the number 1 priority. The finish is very well made, and it looks like a Hand Stitched Bogu.     Beautiful Men Shape with Fukuro Nui finish. Fukuro Nui is the same technique used for Hand Stitched Bogus.
    Light weight but very durable Duraluminium material used for the Men Gane.
    Tsuki design is the Most popular Goban Zashi.
     
    One unique point of this Men is the new cut on the Mendare. There is a slight angle at the end of the  Men Buton, which enhances the shape of the Men.
     
    Here is a closer look at the end angle of the Men. You can also see the beautiful design of leather trim of the Men. This design is based on "Ariga Model".

    The innner side finish of the Men is made of Top quality dark Navy Clarino material.
     
    The front view of the Tare. There are 6 embroidery patterns on each Tare, and the leather design is also based on "Ariga Model". The top portion of the Tare, where is in full contact with the body, is constructed in a soft way, so it will be very comfortable to your body. Also, this portion has the "Ariga Model" design, which richly uses a full piece clarino leather.
    Same as the Men, the side Tares are cut in angle, which makes the Tare look nicer on your body.

    The Kote has also the "Ariga Model" desgn. Extra embroidery designs were added to the fist portion of the Kotegashira. The fist portion of the Kote is made of Clarino leather, and the palm is constructed with Deer leather, for better durability.

    There are two options for the Do: Honkumo and Onikumo munes.
    These are the same Do used for the Top Quality 2MM Bogu sets.

    Can't go wrong with this August 7, 2010

    I've bought this bogu a few months ago and have to say I am absolutely happy with it. The quality hasn't been a problem so far and the price is really fair. I compared the weight to my previous bogu and the difference was only minimal but it does FEEL pretty light. Not sure if this is the placebo effect or just nice weight distribution but I am definitely happy with it. I would especially recommend this one to beginners who buy their first set of bogu as the price is really okay for what you get.

    Concerning the Kote: I have not yet had any problems or more pain than usual after keiko with these.

    I just received this product today. I am very pleased with it upon first look. The quality of workmanship seems first rate. Tight seams, clean edges and solid materials. I would definitely recommend this product at this time.

    I will update my findings after putting this bogu through it's paces at the dojo.

    UPDATE: 03/31/2010 - This Bogu has performed exceptionally well in keiko and shiai. It is very light and I really don't even realize I am wearing it after a few minutes.

    The only thing I might recommend would be to get some wrist or kote pads. I find the men is sufficiently firm and I barely feel hits there but my wrist is purple after an evening of overzealous kendoka. This is pretty normal with any bogu so don't take it as a detraction.

    Definitely give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

    *Note: Does come with a white tenugui already which I did not know so no need to buy an extra if you don't need to (which I did).

    I received mine a few days ago and am impressed with the quality. The seams look nice.  Everything seemed pretty flexible too (at least everything that should be).  I have only worn this once in the dojo, so I still have no idea about it's durability.  It's quality seems to suggest that it will last though.  I'm happy I purchased.
