Sometimes, you are so used to the Kote that you do not want it re-palmed, so you have to start all over again, to get used to the new palm. However, that small hole may be very unconfortable, when holding the shinai, and it may cause blisters on your fingers.
Also, if you have small holes in your Kote, that may result in exchanging the entire palm if you leave it without fixing. Fix it before it get too big.
