Balance, feel ,weight, amazing, I am only disappointed I can't use it for Kenjitsu randori, it hits like a slightly bendy boken,a bone breaker for sure, kubi kiri might be fatal. that aside,I love the look, it handles so well, everyone should own one, the closest shinai to shinken my limited experience has brought to me

This is my first shinai, and it arrived today. It is heavier then a regular standard shinai, and thicker. When you strike, it makes a deep *whooshing* sound, akin to a flag snapping in the wind. Granted, it's not as light, but it makes you move closer to your target, and every strike you plan and take will be calculated better. I look forward to using it in my Kendo class.

This is a wonderful shinai. It basically forces you to use kihon kendo and big waza in order to make an effective cut. The shape and weight teach you a lot more about using a katana than a normal shinai does. Dare I hope they become regulation some day?
