beautiful bogu at a great price |

if you are after an understated and traditional-looking bogu, then this one will fit the bill perfectly (the only other option i am aware of would be miyako's tokuren).
what the blurb says is true - the bogu is really well made, with top notch materials throughout, and at least for me, this is what counts. the design is beautifully understated, in fact i cannot think of anything that could be omitted without sacrificing utility. one thing to bear in mind is the short mendare – it really is short. i like it this way, but if you're used to the regular-sized mendare then the look of this bogu will take some getting used to.
the only complaint that i have is that there is a small hole in a palm of the right hand kote only after about three months of practice. oh well, probably just my bad luck.
