This definitely helped me correct my tenouchi and hasuji, primarily because of the tsuka design. It forces you to apply proper tenouchi and after using it for a while and switch back to a regular round shinai, you'll find yourself applying tenouchi correctly without thinking about it. I use it mostly when I feel I need to work on yoko men and every couple of months or so to check myself. Because of the oval design, you have to check the slats often to get the most out of it. I have two with one in reserve to replace broken slats.

I have been practicing for about 3 years and this is the first oval grip I have used. I have medium sized hands and this grip is great for strike control, especially yoko men and do. Control is not my strong suit, so I believe that I may switch over completely to oval grip shinais. However, the only down side to this weapon is that it feels a little less solid compared to my madake shinais. Perhaps more options will be available in the future.

When the 2nd piece breaks, you'll be like "Holy f*cking shiit". You can't change the thin pieces, and you'll have to buy a new one if you grow to attatched to it, cuz it just feels so good. And I'm not rich.
