Features
ISE BESSAKU has a thick handle, and it has the KOTO GATA shape. It is thick all through the Shinai, and it is made of Top Quality Madake bamboo. Similar to our other Bessaku series, this Shinai has more angular corners, increasing the bamboo skin surface, improving the strength of the bamboo. We have selected a special type of bamboo, with a greenish color, in order to give that special look and touch. <BR>&nbsp;<BR>"I have a bunch of Shinais in my collection, from a long time, and this Shinai was based on one of my favorite TESSHIN Shinai. We used a Greenish Color Madake Bamboo, which makes this Shinai look very unique. This is how TESSHIN used to look, when you purchased it, back in the old days. It has a thick handle, and a very nice balance. When you look at this Shinai, it looks very thick and heavy, however, this Shinai averages 530 - 545 grams, and the actual feel is much less, because of its exceptional balance" (Taro Ariga CEO e-bogu.com Inc. A beauty... February 22, 2011
Reviewer: Dominic from Montréal, Canada
The first thing that struck me about this shinai is the craftsmanship. It looks plain perfect. When you hold it, not only is it very well balanced, with a little less weight at the tip than at the grip, it also feels very sturdy. The grip isn't grotesquely oversized and very good for people with larger hands. I have a feeling that this is going to be both my favourite and longest lasting shinai yet.

Excellent Choice February 15, 2011
Reviewer: Emily from Longmont, CO United States
I have been using this shinai for a few weeks now, after deciding that my previous shinai did not weigh enough, and I am very pleased with the decision to purchase it. It's weight has really contributed to building up more strength during practice, and the balance really does make it feel more light than it actually is, and my Senpai even commented on this when he held it. It looks good as well. Great choice overall.

Different! April 26, 2009
Reviewer: Jason Chou from Richardson, TX United States
I fell in love with the balance of it, especially when the size is taken into account. This shinai looks..pretty big compare to the rest. For those looking for one shot one kill using Tobikomi-stike, this  shinai is pretty good. I only wish the tip was just slightly thinner.
