Good, but not great... February 23, 2007
Reviewer: David Naputi from Richmond, VA United States
I bought two of these Shinai and when I took one of them apart to sand and oil before use, the bamboo had a huge splinter by where the tsuba would be. I didn't see it until my hand ran over it. I tried to sand it off but it was too deep. I tossed that one aside. The second one was better, I sanded it down and oiled it, and it's held up.

All in all, these are good shinai. Not the best, but sufficient for keiko.

Worth the money August 8, 2006

What can I say? It does the job for a good price, and is much better than some of the other cheap shinai I've seen.

All my kendo needs are met by E-Bogu. Now I have gone thru many Shinai and all of them sept one I have gotten from this sight .Every thing is of good condition and quolity here .My friend owns this shinai , I myself own 3 of the high end models that I bought from this sight ,eatch are still in great condition and so is my friends .Now I do have other friends who bought theres at other places for the same price...if not more... and they have cracks or have compleatly broke .Needless to say this shinai is very light compaired to some of myne .The ballance is good as well .The bamboo is a bit thin but don't let that fool you ,it still holds up Extreamly well .This makes for very fast pace combo's and fast pary attackes yet its such good bamboo it can take alot of punishment .

My best shinai April 27, 2006
Reviewer: T. Chan from NY United States
Good for shiais because it feels so light. Lighter than some of the expensive ones.
Surprisingly greater than some of the expensive bamboo shinais from here that I had before purchasing these.
Also lasts longer.
Plus it's cheaper.
And no one will say "Why go so fancy?" when you have this shinai.

Great Practice Shinai April 27, 2006
Reviewer: Dravi from Daytona Beach, Florida, USA
This is just exactly what it is said to be, a Practice Shinai. I liked where the Center of Gravity was for this Shinai, just where it is supposed to be for practice, Just a few inches above the Tsuba. Great Quality, but I recommend a quick sanding and oiling upon recieving, it did seem a little jagged.

39 Practice shinai April 27, 2006
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Miami, FL United States
It was of good quality although the bamboo was a little thin, the balance was average, a generally good shinai for normal training.
