Green Tea was consumed in powder from in 12th century when it became popular in Japan. Matcha is made from Ten-cha grown under the shade to enhance sweetness flavor, and ground its soft leaf part only gently with some stone mill. Suggested 2 g of Matcha for 50 ml of hot water (160 F) and stir! Maeda-en's Shiki Matcha can be used for baking as well.
