Good craftmanship, this is good to practice suburi with and compliment with use of a standard shinai with a 500gram weight. The change is good and the weight to me personally is just right. It is better to have your own than borrow a friends or from the dojo, and the reasons behind owning this are obvious.

I really like the craftsmanship of this bokken. It's not super heavy if practicing correctly. It forces you to control it with your body, not just your arms. Very good for training.

I have had this suburi bokken for a couple of years now and have enjoyed it, if not for practice then for the aesthetics. It's definetly a conversation piece!
However, my sensei has a smaller suburi bokken made of rich, dark wood. It is both heavier and smoother on the cut - a real beauty. After practicing with his weapon, it's hard to give this item 5 stars. Perhaps not fair, as I have no idea how much he paid, but my honest opinon none the less.

This bokken is pretty sweet! It's the only bokken that can stand up by itself vertically on its tip! Nice!

Quite heavy. Trains the arms really well. Love it.
