Like the Mino, this Kai Dobari Shinai is superbly crafted but has a lighter feel to it. The tip feels lighter so I feel like I am able to move it faster. Great value for money. (Looks great too). So nice I bought another one as a backup.

Excellent Shinai for Practice and Competition |

I have been using this shinai for over a year now and, from the start, I found the balance to be perfect for me.
None of the slats have splintered at all and it still looks fairly new... a very hard-wearing, solid practice and competition shinai... hmmm... I must order a spare...!
...added 25/12/2006... I have just received my new Kai shinai and the build qulaity is identical to my existing one... which is still in pretty much pristine condition!!! Excellent !!!

Feels like as if was half carbon and half bamboo. It's way heavier than the regular practice shinai. (The weight is further towards the tip) I've had this for a day so far, and it hasn't broken yet
