I don't know how appropriate these are for schools, safety issues and such, but this thing has certainly saved me in those few times where my techniques must actually be applied, and it was indeed worth the bleeding all over the danm thing, as well as all those bruised knuckles. It was also interesting in that my hands were able to rock climb without scraping as much, not that anybody purchasing these is concentrating on that, oh, and the price is worthy of worship.
