Great starter kit August 14, 2017 Reviewer: 527X   This is my first Bogu. Everything was neatly packaged upon arrival. Having only used loaner Bogu, it was as nice to feel how crisp and clean this kit was. Set up was easy and left me a nice shade of blue. My first bogu February 23, 2015 Reviewer: -Max- from Leavenworth, KS United States   It was suggested to me by sempai to skip the cheapest set and go for this one. I do not begrudge the extra money, and am pleased with what I received. I'm new to Kendo and didn't have a lot of money to spend, but what I got didn't make me feel cheap when I put it on and practiced in it. I'm a large man, and e-bogu's customer service called me to confirm measurements and make suggestions, and the end result is that what I received fits me and I'm happy with it. I have no regrets for buying this bogu set for my first bogu, and am pleased as all get out with how it fits and wears while practicing. If you're buying this as a first bogu set like I was, buy the wrist protectors. I found out the hard way that kote strike practice can HURT, and the kote don't do enough by themselves to stop that. UPDATE:Six years on and I have had absolutely no problems with this bogu. Hasn't broken or worn out, or given me a reason to wish I had purchased a different set. Was this review helpful to you?

bogu review July 12, 2014 Reviewer: Jason Carl from Sicklerville, NJ United States   Keep in mind I am brand-new to owning a bogu. PROS:1) service top-notch! 2) shipping & packaging were excellent. 3) excellent quality 4) e-bogu is in USA (in case a problem/easy to exchange). CONS:1) kote smelled like rawhide –did not bother me but some might object to strong deer leather smell; 2) no instructions on how-to (had to go online) 3) BLUE… my hands look like a Smurf. beware of the bogu dye! ADVICE 1) get extra men pad (thick). well worth extra $9; 2) get forearm pads; 3) measure twice! Most adults will need the largest size Men.  I have small hands so I went with the 2nd largest Kote. 4) save on bag - go to a store & browse their luggage/bags;  HIMO: 3 lengths: small (for bottom of Do); 2) medium for the top of Do; 3) long for men. OVERALL: I rate 5 of 5 since Pros outweigh my Cons.  I am not sure if smell & dye are like this on all new bogu?  e-bogu has youtube vids – check those out. Best of luck, seek Sensei advice. Good Armor and Service October 21, 2012 Reviewer: Anonymous Person   I recently purchased this armor as my first set. I had no idea what to look for so i asked around my dojo, when people heard i was ordering from e-bogu the told me to just talk to the customer service as they could help me.
