This knife is great, he curve parts are very usefull
The only bad thing on it is that the scabbard (?) tends to get loose with time don't hold itself in the blade after some months of use

I recomended ^^ its great!

1) The strait blade is great for removing splinters and other minor damage.
2) The curved portion is useful in shaping the edges of the bamboo during initial maintenance of the shinai

All around i find it to be a useful tool

5 of 5 Handy little tool May 13, 2008

The blade stays sharp even through repeated use and does a great job in shaving off splinters and compressing the sides of the slats after sanding.  The cap stays on nicely and protects the blade well but mine will only go on facing a particular direction (a minor inconvenience).  Great tool to have at all times.
