5 of 5 best I've found December 1, 2008
Reviewer: Brian Pang from Brooklyn, NY United States
I'm that friend... :)
These are the best off-the-shelf tonfa that I've ever found.
Excellent weight, finish, proportions and engineering.
I'm here buying more.
If you wanted anything better, you'd have to make them yourself.

EDIT: I'd like to respectfully disagree with Ben regarding the sizing of the headpiece. I have always found that when it's too large it will give unnecessary blisters on your thumb from excess friction. You don't need this huge ball on the end of the "handle" to maintain your grip. These are properly proportioned so that you can get a tactile sense that your hand is in the right place without the knob becoming a crutch for sloppy technique. I've never dropped/thrown mine. Osu!

4 of 5 Great Tonfas! Only one complaint... July 25, 2008
Reviewer: Ben Schoeffler from San Jose, CA United States
These are my first pair of tonfas and I was persuaded to buy them because of the other reviews on this site and I am glad I did. They are high quality and there isn't any varnish on the outside of them. The wood grain flows down the shaft and isn't angled at all, and the handle is attached with glue and also with a square peg. The Square peg will prevent the handle from rotating after heavy use. I'm sure these tonfas will last me a while. My ONLY complaint is that the head piece on the handle is not large enough. I've read online that the headpiece should be the circumference of your thumb and index finger  just barely touching but on these tonfas it is definitely smaller than that. This makes the tonfas more prone to sliding out of your hand.  Right now I'm just dealing with it, but I may end up fashioning some sort of larger head piece out of wood and attaching it.

That is my only complaint,  in general these are awesome tonfas.

4 of 5 A step up... March 12, 2008
Reviewer: Michael Mason from Kew Gardens, NY United States
I bought these for a friend who teaches karate, after seeing the low quality he was getting from one of the "usual" suppliers.  A big step up in finish and weight.  E-bogu continues to impress.

5 of 5 An excellent buy April 27, 2006
Reviewer: Michael Bailey from Paonia, CO United States
Those tonfa have a really pleasing look and feel to them.  They are quite solid and I would caution anyone from just whirling them around.  The grain is just rough enough to give it a decent grip, but smooth enough to make it feel really nice.  Another quality achievement from Ebogu!!
