My first Bokken, purchased since I aim to start practicing Iaido. I'm pleased with the quality. The tsuba is plastic, and probably the least quality item of the set, but looks to be sufficient for a beginner. I'm sure the bokken itself will last many years, and white oak, while purportedly heavier than red, is also more resilient. As a set, it's more than sufficient for a beginner and could be used for advanced practitioners too.
It took only 2 days to be shipped to Montreal, Canada, which is amazingly fast.
Unfortunately I ended up paying nearly twice the price posted at checkout. The website didn't specify all prices were in US dollars, so I was charged in US funds, converted to CAD. I was also charged duties at the border (22$). Can you believe paying taxes on taxes?
Though this review is for the product, I would have knocked off 0.5-1 star for the experience as a whole because the lack of info on the currency used on the site and the potential for extra duty fees.
