For $60, this is a very nice shinai. The problem with dobari in general is that it's usually too light on the tip and it lacks precision. However, Kai feels more stable than most dobari shinai. I can still land a mean tsuki and just do good kendo overall. Again, this is not the fastest dobari shinai I've used, so don't expect it to feel like super light Jissengata shinai. I always complained to my friends about how I don't like E-Bogu shinai, because they always feel so heavy(especially Tokusen Madake series). But I think Kai is going to be my go-to shinai until I find a better one. Also, I love the dark matte finish on this shinai. Very fancy.
