4 of 5 Great value for money December 8, 2011
Reviewer: Scott Probst from Highfields, NSW Australia
After training for some time with a very light iaito  was looking for a more realistic-weight iaito to complement my training. This iaito is excellent - nice blade profile, even centre curve. It is also very well finished, as well as many more expensive iaito that I have seen. The balance is more suited to styles with a forward or upright furikaburi as opposed to a deep or more horizontal one, I think that the small amount of blade taper contributes to this, as well shorter handle compared to [for example] a Last Legend katana of a similar length. The only fault so far is that the tsuka binding is a little lose after about 20 hours use - it will need to be rebound with heavier binding at some point.

9.12.11 - having used this blade now for some time, i have to comment about the metal - despite frequent use and cleaning, there is some light surface corrosion that is very hard to shift. This compares with my other iaito and shinken that do not have this problem.

4 of 5 Great starter iaito! December 30, 2010
Reviewer: Ernest Lee from Rockville, MD United States
I agree with the reviewer below.  This sword is a bit on the heavy side but it's great for training.  My sensei was impressed with the quality.

5 of 5 Great quality! November 26, 2010
Reviewer: Angel Dumitru from St-Laurent, QC Canada
Let's start with the cons:
It's heavy! For a training session could be OK, but for a seminar (few good hours) it's a killer. Not that appropriate for ladies.

The pros:
Excellent quality! Indeed. Great and beautiful blade with a magnificent hamon. I saw the signature on the tang and I found it was made by a great Chinese swordsmith, Zheng Wu.
It's excellent balanced.
Beautiful, elegant and well produced koshirae.
Just after a bought a Japanese  made iaito, I realized that the quality of this "JIDAI Koshirae" is far better than it's japanese counterpart. Unexpected... but that's a fact.
