If you are an Iaito or Katana owner, you recognize the importance to both keep your sword safely in your home and protect your investment.

Well this sword case does it all. Safety comes first and this case has two, key locks on the front.  With the durable and good looking aluminum embossed panels and interior upper and lower, high density, egg carton shell foam lining, you can be sure that your favorite sword will be safe and secure at all times.

You can also use the case to mix Shinais and Sword in case you are travelling to a kendo/Iaido seminar.

- Aluminum embossed surface panels surrounded by a rigid aluminum frame
- 8 high impact rounded plastic corners for durability
- 2 Key locks on either side of carry handle for maximum security
- Matching extremely durable grey piano hinge attaching top to bottom of case
- 8 Chrome brace supports, one on every corner, for abrasion protection and rigidity
- Black EVA  high density foam lining in top and bottom of the interior
- High density, egg carton shell foam lining in top lid of case
- Removable molded egg carton shell foam in lower portion of case which can be removed to adjust to height requirements and an additional 3/4 inch high density foam lining covering the case bottom
- Two strong roller on the bottom of the case, to roll the case
- 2 support braces to hold lid in upright position when open
- Deluxe black plastic and non-slip rubber rubdown handle

Experience with travel March 31, 2008

This is basically a narrow gun case- something many of us have used for years for our shinken when flying and is a decent way to transport blades.  Experience:  I moved back to the USA from China and was bringing my swords.  Baggage handelers are called "throwers" and the case was destroyed after its second use- not because of the material quality.  No case/luggage is meant to be tossed the way airline workers do.  Second: TSA does not have keys for these cases and usually suspect a firearm inside.  Don't be surprised if you pickup the case at the destination airport to find it has been damaged (locks broken) so they can inspect the inside.  Also: if you fly, use a towel to wrap your swords (if packing more than one).  Vibration and jarring will shift them and potentially the saya/tsuba can rub during transportation.  The molded foam inside does not always prevent swords from shifting.
