| OWARI Shinais are made based on a real Katana (Japanese Sword). The length is similar to a Size 37 Shinai, but it is built with thick heavy Bamboo. This Shinai has a curved shape that is similar to a Katana, and the entire Shinai is Oval Shape. When holding, it resembles a real Sword. "I use this practice during practices at my Dojo. It is heavy, so you try to strike less, which makes you wait for that right opportunity of strike, rather than wasting unnecessary hits. Also, the Shinai being shorter than the usual adult size 39 Shinai, makes you think more about the Maai (distance to the opponent) and be more careful when attacking the opponent. I feel that my Seme (Attack) has improves since I started using this Shinai. The curve on the Shinai, gives the impression of holding a real Sword, and makes the Suriage and the Kaeshi Wazas easier.
