Approximate weight: 560 g (1.2 lb)
Left grip diameters are approximately 1 in x 1,5 in.

Yagyū Shinkage-ryū is one of the oldest Japanese schools of swordsmanship (kenjutsu). Its primary founder was Kamiizumi Nobutsuna, who called the school Shinkage-ryū. In 1565, Nobutsuna bequeathed the school to his greatest student, Yagyū Munetoshi, who added his own name to the school. Today, the Yagyū Shinkage-ryū remains one of the most renowned schools of Japanese swordsmanship. Its name roughly means Yagyū New Shadow School.

4 of 5 nice tsuka shape May 15, 2022
Reviewer: Suzane Van Amburgh from PORTLAND, OR United States
I am a teacher and this Yagyu bokken is a nice alternative when I want to use a lighter bokken. I like the egg-shaped tsuka - a nice grip for smaller hands. Nice straight grain pattern. I will have to sand and finish this to a nicer smoother finish.  The finish on ebogu wooden weapons is not ideal but okay in the short term. The tsuba is super tight - can barely get it on.

Just received my bokken. Beautiful white oak, excellent quality,  finish and balance.  Excited to use this as part of my kata.
