I recently purchased the GENTEN KOTE II - Master Quality ORIZASHI Kote [20 Years Anniversary Special Edition], and I’m extremely satisfied with my experience.
From the moment of purchase to receiving the package in Ukraine, the delivery took only 14 days from the USA, which is quite impressive.
The palm of the kote is indeed made from genuine leather, as stated, and the craftsmanship is excellent. They fit very comfortably on the hands and do not restrict wrist mobility during tenouchi. Additionally, the grip on the shinai’s tsuka is truly great — the kote do not get in the way, there’s no need to apply extra effort, and there’s absolutely no feeling of discomfort.
The only minor drawback is the intense blue dye transfer — everything they touch gets a noticeable blue tint. However, I believe (and sincerely hope!) that this is just a feature of new bogu and will improve over time.
Overall, I highly recommend these kote for their quality, comfort, and performance.
