If you're looking for a wooden wakizashi or kodachi that's also amazing to look at, consider these. I bought 2, with one weighing 283 grams and the other 300 grams, and the smaller tsuba and dome together for these weigh 25 grams.
Not only is the grain orientation ideal, the matte varnish and Kanasuji pattern work together to make this a beautiful display piece, though it'll work just fine for actual contact in kata.
