If you are from canada, expect paying  in cad ,3 times de price indicated ,when you recive it.
The one I receive, is hard as a piece of wood.
Do not think I will using it by respect to my  shiai and motodashi partners.
Regular tsuba does nt fit with it.
Otherwise it is nice.

5 of 5 Great Shinai! November 3, 2015
Reviewer: Christopher Hein from Aikido of Fresno
We have been practicing gekiken at our Aikido Dojo. Before these shinai, we were using bokken. These Shinai have allowed us to practice much harder and more safely, while not sacrificing too much. Well built good Shinai!

Balance, feel ,weight, amazing, I am only disappointed I can't use it for Kenjitsu randori, it hits like a slightly bendy boken,a bone breaker for sure, kubi kiri might be fatal. that aside,I love the look, it handles so well, everyone should own one, the closest shinai to shinken my limited experience has brought to me

5 of 5 Excellent product. May 1, 2009
Reviewer: Catherine from Toronto, ON Canada
This is my first shinai, and it arrived today. It is heavier then a regular standard shinai, and thicker. When you strike, it makes a deep *whooshing* sound, akin to a flag snapping in the wind. Granted, it's not as light, but it makes you move closer to your target, and every strike you plan and take will be calculated better.
I look forward to using it in my Kendo class.

5 of 5 Madake Owari Shinai December 3, 2007
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Vienna, VA United States
This is a wonderful shinai.  It basically forces you to use kihon kendo and big waza in order to make an effective cut.  The shape and weight teach you a lot more about using a katana than a normal shinai does.  Dare I hope they become regulation some day?
