This is the New version of one of our best selling KAI Shinai. It has has the same balance and same feel, but the bamboo color is darker, and has a nicer finish. Very beautiful finish. The shape of the Shinai is very similar to our popular Dobari KUNIMASA Shinai.

This is a great shinai. A little heavier, but then I like to feel the extra weight for training. I gave this one to myself as a gift for my 5th kyu exam. I would not necessarily use it for tournament, but I like the added mass to improve my suburi practice. From the looks alone, you get the feeling it's a step above, beyond. It feels superior, elevated in craftmanship. Total recommendation!

Overall amazing quality, both in product and customer service. The ordering process for getting multiple shinais engraved could be a bit smoother, but any time I had questions or concerns, customer service was quick to answer them & confirm that my order was being processed as I intended. The shinais themselves turned out perfectly, excellent quality materials & engraving exactly how I was hoping. Can't recommend enough
